WINTER SCHOOL: DISSEMINATION OF SCIENTIFIC RESULTS

As part of the Winter School, Module 4 was dedicated to the topic “Dissemination of Scientific Results.”

In the first session, Zhandos Tauanov, PhD, Associate Professor-Researcher at the Ecology Research Institute, delivered a presentation titled “A Young Researcher’s Personal Scientific Brand: The Postdoctoral Stage.”

The session focused on understanding the prerequisites for building a young researcher’s scientific brand and exploring opportunities available at the postdoctoral stage.

Drawing on his extensive experience in project management, Zhandos Tauanov noted that attempting to cover all research areas is a common mistake in developing a personal scientific brand. He emphasized that the key approach is to clearly define one’s research focus and align it with international research trends. According to the speaker, asking questions at scientific conferences, actively participating in workshops, writing professional correspondence to authors, and contributing to reviews or special issues can open up significant opportunities for researchers.

In the second session, Serik Polatuly, PhD Postdoctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, presented “Mastering Tools and Channels for Disseminating Scientific Results: Ways to Increase the Visibility of Publications.”

The speaker discussed various tools and channels for enhancing the visibility of scientific publications and shared practical experience in using platforms such as ORCID, Scopus Author ID, Google Scholar, Publons, and Altmetrics.

Overall, the module provided young researchers with clear and practical guidance on promoting their scientific results at the international level.
