THE 3RD MODULE OF THE SCIENTIFIC SEMINAR SERIES HAS BEEN HELD
Today, the third module of the seminar series organized as part of Science Month was held at the university under the title “Submitting Applications for International Research Projects: Strategies and Criteria I.”
The aim of the seminar was to provide general information about the Erasmus+ program, as well as to discuss capacity-building projects in higher education and opportunities for engaging international partners within the program.
The event featured a special speaker, Laura Paluanova, Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Office in Kazakhstan.
“Erasmus+ is often perceived solely as a mobility program for students and teachers. However, this is a misconception. The program is very extensive and even includes exchanges among school students. In most cases, contacting and staying in touch with the university’s international department helps resolve many issues,” said Laura Paluanova.
According to the speaker, four направления (key actions) of the program are available for Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries. In particular, the Mobility of Individuals action supports sending students, staff, and faculty members of higher education institutions to European universities for study, internships, or teaching. The Capacity Building in Higher Education action focuses on developing higher education systems and improving their quality. Another well-known and promising strand is Erasmus Mundus. The Jean Monnet projects represent the fourth направление open to participation from Central Asian countries.
She also spoke about the International Credit Mobility program, noting that it is intended for teachers, students, and administrative staff within partnerships with European Union (EU) universities, and elaborated on its goals and opportunities.
At the end of the seminar, Laura Paluanova provided further clarification on the Erasmus+ program and conducted training sessions and practical exercises. As a result, participants shared various proposals and raised relevant issues.
