AT OUR UNIVERSITY, AZERBAIJANI TRIPLETS AND KYRGYZ TWINS ARE STUDYING THE KAZAKH LANGUAGE

For more than 30 years, young people from Turkic-speaking countries have been studying at our international university. Every year, students from brotherly nations come to our university to learn the Kazakh language. This year, among them are triplets from Azerbaijan and twins from Kyrgyzstan.

The triplets are Zehra, Esra, and Lala Azizova, and the twins are Batma and Zuura Akkanalieva. They are currently studying at the university’s Preparatory Center, where they are learning the Kazakh language. Although they have been studying for only a month, the girls are already able to form sentences and express their thoughts freely. The center trains young people from Turkic countries who have received the university’s internal grant (quota). In addition to Kazakh, they also study Turkish and English.

“There are several reasons why we chose to study in Kazakhstan. The main one is the desire to meet students from Turkic countries and to learn more deeply about our shared culture and history. Besides, we consider it a great honor to study in the spiritual capital of the Turkic world — Turkistan,” the students said.

At the beginning of their studies, it was not easy for teachers and classmates to tell the triplets and twins apart. To make it easier, the girls started writing their names on pieces of paper and placing them in front of them during classes — this has now become a pleasant tradition supported by the teachers.

According to the teachers, the students show great interest in learning languages. Zehra, Esra, and Lala help their classmates with Turkish, while Batma and Zuura, for whom Kazakh is similar to their native language, help their friends learn it. This is a vivid example of friendship and unity among students.

After completing the Foundation Center, the triplets and twins plan to continue their education in different fields.

“Although we look alike, our professional dreams and goals are different,” the girls said. One wants to become a psychologist, another — a doctor, and the third — a teacher.

It should be noted that this academic year, 296 students from Turkic countries are studying at the university’s Foundation Center. Throughout the year, they study languages, and after successfully passing their exams, they continue their education in their chosen specialties.
