WORLD BANK REPRESENTATIVE DOMAGOJ RASIC VISITED OUR UNIVERSITY
In 6 June 2023 World Bank representative Domagoj Rasic visited our university with the purpose of becoming familiar with its activities.
During his visit to Turkistan, Mr. Rasic toured our university’s Ecology Research Institute, Clinical Diagnostic Center, Biotechnology Laboratory, Cultural Center, Botanical Garden, and Library.
He also held separate meetings with the university administration, stakeholders, and members of the academic staff.
The key topic of discussion was the future Yassawi Center for Academic Excellence, planned to be established at Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University.
The Center will focus on three main areas: medical, biotechnological, and ecological development. It will serve as a practical training hub for students and a research and development center for young scientists.
Research laboratories for disease diagnosis and treatment will be based at the university’s Clinical Diagnostic Center.
The establishment of the new center aims to promote innovative education and integrate global achievements in medicine, biotechnology, and ecology.
University Rector Zhanar Temirbekova opened the meeting by emphasizing the importance of the visit and the opportunities it presents for both the university and the region.
Participants included Turkistan Region’s Head of Healthcare Asxan Baidualiev, Head of the Regional Chamber of Entrepreneurs Asylan Ibadullaev, and university graduate and current Head of Atyrau Region’s Healthcare Department Qaisar Abdaliyev. They raised key issues from their respective fields and expressed high hopes for the success of the new initiative.
The university’s academic staff presented their current projects implemented with state support and shared their upcoming proposals.
In conclusion, Domagoj Rasic stated:
“Today I learned about several impressive projects implemented at the university, many of which were carried out with the support of the state, ministries, and the Republic of Türkiye. These projects offer great value to society. What’s most important is to keep going and further strengthen the momentum. The Academic Excellence Program will provide great opportunities for those looking to continue and expand such work.”
