97th anniversary of National anthem of Republic of Turkey

Today, March 12 is the 97th anniversary of the National anthem of Republic of Turkey. On March 12, 1921, the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey “Istiklal Marsh” was officially adopted which was written by Mehmet Akif Ersoy, the leader of the national liberation war in Turkey, the great thinker, the great poet. The anthem has been unchanged until recently. In this regard, the Scientific Library and the Faculty of Philology officially celebrated the Day of the National Anthem of the Turkish Nationality.

Official solemn ceremony began with a national anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Turkey. Pro-rector of the university M.Eren has told the story of “Istiklal Marshı” and congratulated the Turkish people on this day and expressed the hope that the national anthem will continue to grow. Lecturer of the Department of Turkology K.Semiz made a report on the history of the anthem and the author. Students of our university recited the poems of Mehmet Akif Ersoy, the author of the national anthem and presented a video clip.
