07/29/2019 in the city of Nur-Sultan, Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askhat Aymagambetov met with members of the Plenipotentiary Council of the International Kazakh-Turkish University, among them: Vice Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Fatima Zhakypova, Chairman of the Plenipotentiary Council M. Yildiz, member M. Shimshek, President of the University B. Abdrasilov, First Vice-President J. Tomar and Director of the Department of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Education and Science A. Toybaev.
During the meeting, the head of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted the outstanding achievements of the university and highlighted new trends in the direction of transnational education. Chairman of the Plenipotentiary Council M. Yildiz and Rector of the University B. Abdrasilov talked about the activities of the university and shared plans for the future.
The parties discussed issues such as increasing university funding from both countries, updating educational programs based on the experience of Nazarbayev University and leading universities in the world, progress in international and national ratings, building hostels, increasing grants, and developing infrastructure. At the end of the meeting, the leadership of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the members of the Plenipotentiary Council, in order to supplement the University’s Development Strategy with new directions, agreed to create a joint working group consisting of employees of the Ministry and the university.
