On September 19-20, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty hosts the QS WORLDWIDE 2019 International Educational Forum on the theme “Harmony of Human Heritage and Advanced Technologies”. The Vice Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Berdibek Saparbayev and the Mayor of Almaty, Bakytzhan Sagintayev, spoke. “Our country is engaged in the issues of increasing competitiveness. Today, the forum participants will discuss the prospects for the development of universities in the framework of educational, scientific and spiritual values, ”B. Saparbayev said at a meeting with Prime Minister Askar Mamin.
QS WORLDWIDE is an annual international conference on higher education dedicated to creating a platform for leaders, scientists, government officials and international leaders in Central Asia and other regions.
The global university summit is focused on a new educational policy aimed at transforming higher education in Kazakhstan with an emphasis on globalization with the participation of international partner institutions.
The meeting is attended by the head of the commercialization department of our university, Y. Kerimbekov and the head of the Program of Public Administration and Regional Development of the School of Public Administration and Economics D. Ergaliev.
- Kerimbekov made a presentation “The role of universities in strengthening the potential for sustainable development of regions” and noted the importance of developing the main goals and innovative infrastructure in the process of transforming our university into a modern university. The forum was attended by Vice President of QS Quacquarelli Symonds Ltd in the United Kingdom Ben Souter, Regional Director of QS Quacquarelli Symonds Ltd Zoya Zaitseva, Head of the Subregional Office for Central Asia Aidai Kurmanova, Elsevier Regional Director for Central Asia Aliya Ospanova. In total, the forum was attended by more than 800 scientists and experts from more than 50 countries.
