The ANCOS Library Consortium in Turkey organized an international online seminar entitled “A Librarian’s View of the Pandemic.”
Representatives of the libraries of universities in Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Azerbaijan, Australia, Germany and Turkey participated in an online meeting and shared their experiences on how librarians served readers during quarantine. In the online seminar, the head of the Information Resource Center of our university M.Absemetova made a presentation “University library during the period of COVID-19.” She noted that the website http://library.ayu.edu.kz has the opportunity to use textbooks remotely and the Rmeb electronic library http://rmebrk.kz/social/login all year long. She also spoke about the work of contactlessly returning books to the library at the end of the school year. Users are returned by pre-registration at the link “University Library during the COVID-19 Period” provided on the library website http://lib.ayu.edu.kz has a special collection point for books. The user fills in the return book and puts the books in a box in a special place in the library. Accepted books are left in a separate room for 10-14 days with the date of return. According to him, the disinfection of RFID tools and equipment used when receiving books from users is carried out every hour during the working day.
