The Scientific Research Institute of Turkic Studies of the International Kazakh-Turkish University organized an online seminar, dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Abay, with the participation of Kazakh and Turkish scientists. The moderator of the scientific seminar, Prof.Dr. Cengiz Tomar, spoke about the importance of the seminar and said that the value of research on the heritage of Abay, who has become one of the most significant figures in the Turkic world, is growing day by day. The seminar was attended by Chairman of the Plenipotentiary Council Mukhitdin Shimshek, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Ankara Abzal Saparbekuly, Secretary of TURKSOY D. Kaseinov. President of the International Kazakh-Turkish University B. Abdrasilov in his congratulatory speech said that Abay’s legacy is an eternal inexhaustible spiritual food and a precious treasure of our people. The participants of the event wished the scientists good luck, noting that there is still a lot of fruitful work ahead of them.
Further, excerpts from the concert dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Abay and organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Turkey, the organization TURKSOY, the Ministries of Culture of Kazakhstan and Turkey, as well as were shown. At the concert, Abai’s song “Kozimnin Karasy” was performed.
In the next part of the online seminar, moderated by the Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Turkic Studies, Professor Bulent Bayram, a scientific report by Professor of Pamukkale University Nergis Birai on the topic “Views of Abay Kunanbay on art” was presented, a scientist of the Shakarim University K. Aubakir made a presentation “Categories of body and soul in the philosophy of Abay”, a scientist from the University of Haji Bairam Veli of Ankara city Jamila Knaci presented a report “A look into the future of the two fathers of poetry: Fikret and Khaluk, Abay and Abdirahman”, a scientist of the Shakarim University from Semey city J.Aubakir spoke with a report “Literary school of Abai”, and a scientist from the University of Mugla Sytky Kochman Ekrem Ayan shared his research on the topic “A full-fledged person in the philosophy of Abay.”
The seminar, aimed at popularizing Kazakh literature, culture, history, philosophy, as well as the values of the Kazakh people, ended with various questions and an exchange of views.
