By a decree of the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Commission on Constitutional Reform has been established.

 

Our university graduate, Chair of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan Elvira Azimova, has been appointed as Chair of the Commission.

 

Elvira Azimova is a 1996 graduate of our university with a degree in LawShe began her professional career at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan and progressed to the position of Chair of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 

The primary objective of the newly established body, chaired by our graduate, is to develop proposals for amendments to the country’s Basic Law. In accordance with the approved regulations, the Commission operates under the President and is not limited to formal discussions. Its work involves comprehensive and in-depth analytical deliberations with the participation of representatives of state authorities, regional administrations, civil society institutions, the media, and the academic community.

 

The Commission holds consultative and advisory status and, in its activities, is guided by the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, current legislation, regulatory legal acts of the President and the Government, as well as its approved internal regulations.

 

It should be noted that the Commission also includes the Akim of Turkistan Region, Nuralhan KosherovOverall, the Commission comprises more than 120 members, including members of the National Kurultai, qualified legal experts and representatives of the business community, deputies and specialists from various fields, public figures, and leaders of mass media organizations.

 

We sincerely congratulate our graduate Elvira Abilkhassymkyzy on this responsible and prestigious appointment and wish her great success, fair and well-balanced decisions, and an honorable path in serving the interests of the state and society. Our graduate is our pride!
