THE START OF THE INTERNATIONAL PROJECT ERASMUS+ LESLIE

Akhmet Yassawi University launched the International project Erasmus+ №101129032 - LESLIE ERASMUS-EDU-2023-CBHE «Land management, Environment & SoLId-WastE: inside education and business in Central Asia - LESLIE». 

The European partners are represented by the Polytechnic University of Valencia, which is the European Coordinator (UPV, Spain), the University of Cyprus (UCY, Cyprus), Cassino and the University of Southern Lazio (UNICAS, Italy).

The partners of the project on the part of the Republic of Kazakhstan are the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Sh. Ualikhanov Kokshetau University and the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia.

Central Asian partners: Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and 5 universities of the Republic of Uzbekistan. 

The LESLIE project is aimed at introducing innovative teaching methods in the field of sustainable land and waste management by developing microcredit courses in universities in Central Asia: Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

At the University of Akhmet Yassawi, the project manager is Professor Nurdillaeva R.N., and the project executors: acting Docent Toychibekova G.B., Professor of AYU Zhylysbaeva G.N., Associate Professor Abdimutalip N.A., master student Amirbek A.B.

In the period from 27 to 28 February 2024, the first meeting of members of the LESLIE project took place at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. This meeting was attended by 14 organizations from the countries of the European Union and Central Asia (Spain, Italy, the Republic of Cyprus, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan). The project manager, Professor Nurdillayeva R.N. and the project executor Amirbek A. B. took part in this event on the part of our university. 

The LESLIE project meeting was led by the main coordinator of the project, Professor Javier Rodrigo-Ilarri (UPV). The goals, objectives, and structure of the project were presented, work packages were reviewed, the project logo was approved, and the list of works that will be performed in the future was discussed. Also, at the meeting were discussed the prospects for the creation of an International Hub, SLM micro-credit courses, the SLM online toolkit, the impact of the project among stakeholders, and the area of dissemination of its results.

The duration of the project is 36 months, starting from 01.01.2024 to 31.12.2026уу.
