At the national “ASTANA TECH CUP–2026” Championship, held in Astana at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, our students demonstrated a high level of professional training and won several prize-winning places.
The prestigious competition was aimed at enhancing the scientific and technological potential of young researchers and innovators, as well as identifying the best projects.
In the Entrepreneurship Challenges category, the “Turkistan STEM+VR Innovators” team won first place. The students successfully defended their project entitled “Development of Digital STEM Laboratories: Technological and Economic Efficiency of Implementing 3D Printing and Virtual Reality (VR)”. The team members were B. Shukirbai, B. Tuleutayev, and N. Kalkoz, with PhD, Senior Lecturer B. Kurbanbekov serving as the team supervisor.
Two more of our teams also achieved excellent results in this category. In particular, Yassawi NanoTeam won second place (team members: Sh. Abduzhapparov, Z. Baltabayev), while Yasawi Tech secured third place (team member: D. Patchakhanov, supervisor: Research Fellow K. Kelesbayev).
In the Rally Drone Racing category, which focused on precise and safe drone control, speed, and maneuverability, the Yassawi AeroRally team claimed first place. The team members were M. Saydazim and A. Suleimenov, under the supervision of PhD, Senior Lecturer B. Kurbanbekov.
In addition, within the framework of the “School–University” continuity initiative, school students trained under STEM grant projects funded by the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (project supervisor: PhD, Associate Professor Sh. Ramankulov) also won first, second, and third places in various categories.
The winners have now earned the opportunity to represent Kazakhstan at the international stage of the championship in Antalya, Turkey.
