Chairman of the Board of Trustees of our university, Professor Muhittin Simsек, held a seminar titled “The Love of Pen and Paper.”

The meeting was attended by Rector Zhanar Temirbekova, Representative of the Rector Naci Genc, faculty members and students. Members of Professor Mukhittin Şimşек’s family were also present as honorary guests.

Opening the event, Rector Zhanar Temirbekova said:
“Good evening, esteemed professors, dear students, honorable guests! As you know, we want educated and thoughtful people who inspire one another to gather at our institution. This is more than just an environment — it can be called an academic club. It is for this purpose that various events are held at our university. And today the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Professor, Doctor Mukhittin Şimşек, will conduct a special seminar here.”

At the beginning of his speech, Muhittin Simsек noted:
“Today we will speak in detail about the pen and paper. Why is writing important? Why does a person need to write? In fact, a person ‘longs for himself.’ Human memory is pure at the moment of creation. Over time, the soul begins to yearn for those moments. And writing, the pen, paper — these are the things that bring us back to ourselves. When a person takes a pen in hand, time flows slowly, without haste. A special connection arises between the mind, the hand, and the pen.”

During the seminar, he thoroughly analyzed and explained the spiritual significance of the pen, through which a person transfers thoughts onto paper. He also spoke about his childhood love for the pen and shared interesting memories. He elaborated on how his interest in collecting writing instruments began and told the stories of several particularly valuable items in his collection.

In addition, he emphasized the importance of reading and the pursuit of knowledge. He shared life stories and advice that could be useful to the younger generation in the future. He highlighted the significance of love for one’s homeland and family, as well as the importance of developing good human qualities.

At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees presented students with his own works written with his pen.
