Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pusat Pilten completed his undergraduate studies at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Education, Turkey, specializing in Educational Measurement and Evaluation. He received his master’s degree in 2001 from Selçuk University with a focus on the evaluation of assessment practices among primary school teachers and completed his Ph.D. in 2008 at Gazi University. His doctoral research explored the impact of metacognitive strategies on mathematical reasoning skills among fifth-grade students.

Dr. Pilten began his academic career as a research assistant at Selçuk University and Gazi University, later joining Necmettin Erbakan University as an assistant professor in 2013. He also served as a visiting scholar at the University of Missouri, USA, from 2012 to 2013, where he conducted postdoctoral research in mathematics education. In 2019, he achieved the rank of associate professor in Primary Education with a focus on Mathematics Education. Since 2016, he has been a faculty member at Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University in Kazakhstan.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pilten has authored multiple publications in national and international journals, primarily on mathematics education, metacognitive strategies, and problem-solving skills in primary education. He has also contributed to educational publications, including co-authoring sections in books on metacognitive strategies in mathematics teaching.

He currently teaches various courses at undergraduate and graduate levels, including "Instructional Strategies for Primary School Mathematics," "Development and Evaluation of Mathematical Reasoning," and “Assessment in Primary Education.”
