The international book fair Turkestan Book Fair is currently taking place in the city of Turkistan, bringing together publishing organizations from Turkic-speaking countries, writers, translators, and representatives of the literary community. Unique works authored by our university scholars and published by the university press are also showcased at the exhibition.

The book fair is organized by the Foliant publishing house and the international organization TURKSOY, with the support of the Turkistan Region Akimat.

The main goal of the event is to cultivate a love for reading among children and adolescents, promote family reading, and shape literary taste.

The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Akim of Turkistan Region Yertai Altayev; Honored Cultural Figure of the Kyrgyz Republic and member of the Eurasian Writers’ Union, Secretary-General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev; prominent writer Kulbek Yergobek; Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Publishers Association Shamil Sadig; and poet, Chairman of the Union of Writers of the Turkic World Ulykbek Yesdaulet.

It is worth noting that around 50 companies from Kazakhstan, Türkiye, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), and Russia are taking part in the fair, presenting publishing, scientific-educational, and printing products, as well as book retail.

The event will last for three days. In the coming days, visitors will be able to attend book presentations, meet-and-greet sessions with authors, autograph sessions, and special workshops at the children's area.
