A STUDENT ART COMPETITION ENTITLED “THE BREATH OF NATURE: THE CONTINUITY OF ART AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT” WAS HELD

As part of the Clean Kazakhstan campaign, the university held a student art competition entitled “Breath of Nature: Continuity of Art and Sustainable Development.” The event was organized jointly by the Sustainable Development Research Center, the Botanical Garden Research Institute, and the Faculty of Art, Media, and Design.

The aim of the competition is to promote the harmonious relationship between nature and art, to provide creative students with the opportunity to showcase their art in an open natural environment, thereby instilling the ideas of sustainable development in the minds of young people.

Opening the event, Executive Secretary Ender Sayin said: "Today's creative competition is one of the most important. Therefore, I would like to express my gratitude to all the organizers, participating students, and teachers! Such competitions are often held in closed venues, in halls. Today's format is completely different. It takes place outdoors, in the fresh air, in our botanical garden. I think this has particularly inspired the participants."

In addition, Ender, after consulting with the competition organizers, announced that a magazine about the botanical garden, “4 Seasons,” is planned to be released in the near future. The magazine will feature students' works about the beauty of the Botanical Garden and the diversity of plants and fruits. It also makes sense to give incentive gifts to young people who have captured the image of the garden, which will look different in winter, spring, summer, and fall. This initiative will be implemented in the bar by young people who love nature and appreciate the garden. Upon hearing the joyful and inspiring news, the students expressed their willingness to support the initiative.

Next, the dean of the Faculty of Art, Media, and Design, Darkhan Elzhanov, and the director of the Botanical Garden, Bekzat Myrzabekov, conveyed their congratulations and wished the participants good luck.

First of all, the participants visited an exhibition of fruits grown in the Botanical Garden. Enjoying the garden's produce, they breathed in the cheerful melody and nature. Various other plants and fruits grown in the garden of our educational institution were also on display.

The participants of the creative competition competed in the following categories: plein air oil painting, plant installation, and photography.

Each participant depicted a colorful picture of nature in their work, expressing it in different colors. Their creative works were viewed by teachers, students, and staff, who gave their assessments.

At the end of the competition, the winners were awarded special prizes. Other participants received certificates and gifts.
