Today, our university hosted Academic Affairs Day as part of the IV Winter School.

The session was opened by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elmira Idrissova, who delivered a presentation on the topic of “Academic Excellence.”

“Academic excellence is not merely about striving for rankings and formal indicators. First and foremost, it is a comprehensive system of values aimed at improving the quality of educational programs, strengthening research impact, enhancing the university’s reputation, and creating real value for society. Through this strategy, we establish high academic standards and ensure a path of sustainable development,” the Vice-Rector noted.

Next, Director of the Academic Department Ardak Bostanova provided a detailed overview of the quality of educational programs. She emphasized that educational programs should be developed in close connection with science and future competencies. She also noted that within the upcoming academic priorities, the library and the inclusive support center are among the key performance indicators under close monitoring. Work in these areas is being carried out systematically and is already yielding positive results. She highlighted that joint efforts with several structural units are aimed at improving the quality of educational programs.

During the event, pressing topics such as academic excellence, the quality of educational programs, the new role of the instructor, and academic culture were discussed. The meeting focused on defining the university’s competitiveness and academic priorities. Members of the teaching and academic staff received important information relevant to their professional activities.
