UNIVERSITY REPRESENTATIVES PARTICIPATED IN THE DISCUSSION OF THE NATIONAL COALITION INITIATIVE
A meeting with representatives of the scientific and academic community was held in Almaty within the framework of the National Coalition “For the People’s Constitution of a Just and Progressive Kazakhstan.” A delegation from our university, led by Rector Zhanar Temirbekova, participated in the event.
The meeting was chaired by Aida Balayeva, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Culture and Information, and Deputy Chairperson of the Constitutional Reform Commission.
During the discussions, participants examined the impact of the proposed constitutional amendments on the spheres of science and higher education. It was emphasized that prioritizing human capital development would strengthen strategic investments in education and research, contribute to the modernization of university infrastructure, and foster the expansion of international cooperation. In addition, enhancements to data protection regulations are expected to facilitate the development of digital services, the integration of artificial intelligence, and the broadening of research initiatives.
The agenda also included issues related to reinforcing the role of universities as drivers of economic growth, the formation of technological teams, and support for startup development.
The upcoming referendum was underscored as a significant step toward ensuring the legitimacy of long-term decisions in the fields of science, technology, and human resource development.
