“NEW WAVE” CLUB OPENED AT THE FACULTY OF PHILOLOGY

At the university, the Faculty of Philology, Department of Kazakh Philology, organized the opening of the “New Wave” club. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Yedil Tolegenov, Vice-Rector for Social and Cultural Development; Shokan Toymakhan, Head of the Internal Policy Department of Turkestan City; Adil Mamet, Advisor to the Mayor; Tazhibek Mussayev, Deputy of the Turkestan City Maslikhat; and Perizat Aytenova, a civil society activist in Turkestan.

The goal of the “New Wave” club is to contribute to the spiritual and cultural development of students at Yassawi University and the youth of Turkestan City. It aims to provide opportunities for developing creativity, leadership, and personal abilities, support literary and cultural initiatives, create an intellectual discussion platform, and strengthen cooperation among young people.

The club is envisioned as a cultural space bringing together innovative, enthusiastic individuals and socially active students.

At the ceremonial event, Yedil Tolegenov, Vice-Rector for Social and Cultural Development, delivered a congratulatory speech: “Dear students and faculty! Work hard! The new wave of our country is you, the youth! The name ‘New Wave’ is a wonderful choice. A wave that crashes against the shore reveals the secrets of the sea. Watching the wave is relaxing! Wave follows wave, and one wave pursues another. I wish for the club to establish its own prominent place among other clubs in the future!”

Next, Adil Mamet, Advisor to the Mayor of Turkestan City, spoke: “I am also a graduate of this university. From the administration, we are always ready to provide support. Let’s work together. May ‘New Wave’ be a platform for new opportunities!”

The first evening of the club was dedicated to the works of our nation’s outstanding figures, the talented poets Mirzhakyp Dulatuly and Mukagali Makatayev. With melodious songs and beautiful compositions, the students of the Faculty of Philology led the audience on a journey through life through poetry and entertained them with humor through stand-up performances, evoking both laughter and tears.

Additionally, the “New Wave” club adopted its anthem and logo. The lyrics of the anthem were written by Ademau Tolyspayeva, Associate Professor of the Department of Kazakh Philosophy, while the music was composed by Bekzhigit Serdalin, Professor of the Department of Journalism, renowned journalist, and composer.

In the future, club members will hold literary evenings and meetings with prominent figures, well-known writers, improvisational poets (aitys performers), researchers, and intellectuals. They will also organize debates, various competitions, and showcase their creativity through staged performances.

It should be noted that the university’s “Shanyrak” club coordination now includes one additional club, bringing the total number of clubs to 24.
