THE “KNOW HISTORY – EXPLORE” EDUCATIONAL EXCURSION TOOK PLACE

Today, an educational excursion to the Sauran settlement was organized under the theme “Know History – Explore,” aimed at strengthening the vital bridge between the Alumni Association and the university’s active, high-achieving students.

During the event, students traveled to the historic Sauran settlement. As part of the excursion, university alumnus and archaeologist Mels Baktybayev provided students with comprehensive insights into the history of the ancient city of Sauran, its significance during the medieval period, and its archaeological features.

Within the framework of the visit, participants became acquainted with the settlement’s defensive system, historical layout, and the findings of archaeological excavations conducted at the site.

It is worth noting that the majority of the bricks preserved at the settlement to this day are original construction materials dating back to the medieval era.

The excursion became one of the important educational initiatives designed to enhance students’ interest in historical and cultural heritage and to foster a deeper respect for national values.

This initiative will continue in the future.
