INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION STRENGTHENED WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE ERASMUS+ GREENCA PROJECT
On February 23–25, the first seminar meeting of the working group within the framework of the international research project “Greening Water Education for Sustainable Development in Central Asia” was held at the University of Niš in Serbia. A delegation from our university also took part in the event.
The project, supported by the European Commission through its Education and Culture Executive Agency, is being implemented under the Capacity Building in Higher Education initiative. The project officially commenced on July 14, 2025, under Grant Agreement No. 101235515-GreenCA-ERASMUS-EDU-2025-CBHE-STRAND-2. The seminar was opened by the Rector of the University of Niš, Professor Dragan Antić, who emphasized the significance of the project.
During the meeting, negotiations were held on expanding cooperation between our university and the University of Niš. In addition, the participants thoroughly discussed the course content introduced into the educational programs under the grant project and explored ways for further improvement.
One of the key opportunities provided by the project is academic support for students. Two students who successfully complete the designated course within the educational program will be granted the opportunity to attend a two-week on-site training course at a leading higher education institution in Norway. This represents an important opportunity for gaining international experience and advanced knowledge.
Furthermore, within the framework of the project, the Applied Biology and Soil Science Laboratory of the Department of Biology will be equipped with state-of-the-art modern facilities for wastewater treatment. This development will not only strengthen the university’s research capacity but also elevate the quality of environmental research to a new level.
According to the project plan, the project team will participate in six international missions and academic events, scheduled to take place in Niš (Serbia), Oslo (Norway), Olsztyn (Poland), Dushanbe (Tajikistan), Shymkent (Kazakhstan), and Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan). These visits are expected to expand international collaboration and promote the exchange of expertise.
It is worth noting that the project coordinator is G.I. Issayev, Candidate of Technical Sciences and Acting Professor. The leading researcher is I.O. Aymbetova, Candidate of Technical Sciences and Acting Professor, and the research associate is F.A.Dadazhanov. Through close cooperation with international scholars, the project team is expected to contribute significantly to the advancement of university research and academic development.
