“‘TURKI TARLANY AND BEGIM SULUY – 2026’ PAGEANT TAKES PLACE.”

Today, our educational institution hosted the annual cultural and creative student competition “Turki Tarlany and Begim Suluy – 2026,” which has become a long-standing tradition.

The event was organized within the framework of the values reflected in the preamble of the new Constitution, particularly the preservation of historical and cultural heritage and support for national culture.

The competition aims to enhance the intellectual level, creative potential, stage culture, and respect for national values among university students, as well as to promote the shared spiritual heritage of the Turkic world.

The main goal is to create conditions for the comprehensive development of students, identify and support their talents, knowledge, aesthetic taste, public speaking abilities, and love for national culture.

Opening the event, Rector Zhanar Temirbekova addressed the audience:

“Dear guests, respected colleagues, and beloved students! Welcome to the ‘Turki Tarlany and Begim Suluy’ evening! Various events of our institution are held on this very stage. Some are dedicated to science and education, while others continue with important meetings for our scholars. However, tonight’s event has a special significance. In recent years, many cultural events have been organized at the initiative and request of students. Thus, this competition has become an annual tradition at our university. Therefore, I would like to thank all active students and organizing colleagues. I would also like to express my special gratitude to the members of the jury who joined us as guests. Every Yasawi student deserves to become a star. We wish all participants the best of luck.”

The competition was judged by a panel consisting of experienced professionals from various fields. Among them were Levent Gurcan, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Turkistan; well-known producer Zhanat Mukanov; Vice-Rector for Science and Strategic Development Ainash Oshibayeva; Director of Arbat Restaurant Mukan Moldiyar; Director of the Turkistan Musical Drama Theatre Alimkhan Myrzakhan; Director of ABL Fitness Center Ablaikhan Abishov; and director of the fashion salon Marzhan Myrzametova. They evaluated the participants’ talents, stage presence, and creative abilities.

Several sponsors also supported the successful organization of the competition, including ABL Fitness Center, Arbat Restaurant, Marzhan Myrzamet Fashion Salon, designer Meruert Seisembekova, and Kinopark Cinema. The sponsors contributed to organizing the event and provided special prizes for the participants.

It should be noted that 9 female and 9 male students, who passed a special selection round, took part in the competition.

The competition consisted of four stages.

In the first stage – “Introduction,” participants introduced themselves, spoke about their life principles, majors, and interests, and demonstrated their stage culture.
The second stage – “Talent,” tested the participants’ creative abilities, where they presented various performances such as singing, dancing, playing the dombra, reciting poetry, or performing on musical instruments.

During the third stage – “Presentation/Project,” contestants expressed their views on previously selected topics and defended their projects.
The fourth stage – “Defile,” featured a fashion show where participants presented outfits in national or ethno-modern styles, and their aesthetics and stage presence were evaluated.

According to the competition results, the title of “Turki Tarlany” was awarded to Nurasyl Saparkhan, a student of the Faculty of Arts, Media and Design. The title of “Begim Suluy” was won by Nazym Stambekova, also a student of the same faculty.
