GREETING FROM THE PRESIDENT OF TURKEY TO TURKESTAN: IMPORTANT MEETING AT AN INTERNATIONAL GATHERING RECEPTION OF GREETINGS FROM THE PRESIDENT OF TURKEY TO TURKESTAN: AN IMPORTANT MEETING AT AN INTERNATIONAL EVENT

The President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, conveyed his greetings to Turkistan — the ancestral homeland of the entire Turkic world — through the Rector of our university, Zhanar Temirbekova. The President of Turkey and the Rector of our university met in Istanbul during the 9th session of the Women’s Wing of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP Women’s Wing).

This year’s event was dedicated to the theme “Women’s Leadership in the Era of Global Transformation,” bringing together politicians, representatives of international organizations, and prominent women leaders from various countries around the world.

Zhanar Temirbekova, as a deputy of the Turkistan Regional Maslikhat, a representative of the Women’s Wing of the “AMANAT” Party, and Rector of the Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University, also took part in this large-scale event.

During the meeting, AK Party Women’s Wing Chairperson Tuğba Işık Ercan, ICAPP Women’s Wing Chairperson and Member of the Parliament of Mongolia Nomin Chinbat, as well as ICAPP Standing Committee Chair and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Chung Eui-yong, delivered welcoming speeches, emphasizing the importance of women’s leadership in global dialogue and international cooperation.

The main report of the forum was delivered by the Vice President of the Republic of Turkey, Cevdet Yılmaz. In addition, a meeting was held with Mr. Kürşad Zorlu, Vice Chairman of the AK Party. This meeting, continuing the meaningful discussions previously held in Turkistan, demonstrated the strengthening ties between brotherly countries.

One of the most significant moments of the visit was the reception by the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. During the meeting held at the Dolmabahçe Presidential Office in Istanbul, the President particularly emphasized the role of women in politics and highlighted their strategic importance in societal development.

At this meeting, Rector Zhanar Temirbekova conveyed warm greetings from the people of sacred Turkistan and the university community to the President of Turkey.

In response, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated: “Please send my greetings to Turkistan!”, expressing his special respect for the spiritual capital of the Turkic world.

In addition, at the plenary session, the Rector delivered a presentation titled “Women’s Leadership in Peacebuilding and Dialogue for Global Cooperation,” highlighting key initiatives based on the statement of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev: “Promoting the heritage of Yasawi worldwide is our shared duty.”

“The teachings of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi are a civilizational framework based on humanity and compassion. Most importantly, even in that era, he attached strategic importance to the education and upbringing of girls. The principle that ‘a woman rocks the cradle with one hand and the world with the other’ is the golden pillar of our leadership philosophy,” said the Rector.

The head of the university emphasized with great pride that the language of goodness and peace originates from Turkistan and the teachings of Yasawi. She also noted that the university’s current mission is to integrate historical heritage with modern diplomacy.

Overall, the international forum was organized at a high level and resulted in meaningful discussions and productive meetings. Over two days, participants exchanged experiences and discussed important initiatives aimed at a shared future.
