At the university, a student creative competition titled “Texture of Nature” was held as part of the “Clean Kazakhstan” campaign. The event was jointly organized by the Departments of Journalism and Fine Arts of the Faculty of Arts, Media and Design, with support from the Botanical Garden Research Institute.

The purpose of the competition was to promote the “Clean Kazakhstan” concept, foster a culture of environmental protection, and develop students’ creative abilities, as well as strengthen friendly relations among students.

At the opening ceremony, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Media and Design, Darkhan Yelzhanov, emphasized the importance of the initiative. According to him, this good tradition, which began in the autumn, is continuing, and similar events are planned to be held in all four seasons.

Kairat Sak, a representative of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two universities. He proposed implementing joint student projects, including publishing articles in a special newspaper column covering the life of both cities.

In addition, the Director of the Botanical Garden, Bekzat Myrzabekov, expressed his best wishes to the participants, while the Head of the Journalism Department, Balziya Bayeshova, wished the students success.

Among the academic supervisors of the participants were Zhumabek Tazhibek, a lecturer of the Journalism Department, and Yersymbet Yerzhan, a lecturer of the Fine Arts Department.

A distinctive feature of the event was its interdisciplinary format. Based on photographs taken by Journalism students, Fine Arts students created paintings using oil paints. The best works were selected through the combination and harmony of these creative outputs.

Participants presented unique and meaningful works using elements of nature. Guests viewed the exhibition and became acquainted with the ideas and content behind each piece. In particular, the striking similarity between the photographs and the oil paintings impressed the audience.

Each participant conveyed the beauty of nature through a variety of colors in their work. The creative pieces were highly appreciated by faculty members, professors, students, and staff.

According to the results of the competition, winners and their supervisors were awarded certificates of appreciation and special prizes.

In addition, a special fashion show was organized as part of the event.

Thus, the “Texture of Nature” creative competition was held at a high level, making a significant contribution to raising students’ environmental awareness and deepening their understanding of the importance of protecting nature.
