The Rector of our University, Zhanar Temirbekova, paid an official working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation. During the visit, the Rector participated in the ICESCO Rectors’ Forum held in Kazan as part of the 5th Kazan Global Youth Summit.

The international forum addressed key issues related to the development of higher education amid global challenges, digitalization, the integration of artificial intelligence into the educational process, human capital development, and international academic cooperation.

Along with ICESCO representatives, the forum brought together senior officials responsible for education and higher education from Palestine, The Gambia, Cuba, and Iran, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Rae Kwon Chung, as well as representatives of a number of leading universities from around the world.

Particular attention was paid to the role of higher education in the era of modern technologies. Participants exchanged views on the effective integration of artificial intelligence and digital technologies into education, the development of new skills among young people, and the expansion of international partnerships between universities.

During the forum, representatives of Kazan Federal University presented the University’s international educational experience and highlighted its activities in educating international students, conducting scientific research, and developing cooperation with countries of the Islamic world.

The forum also addressed the development of strategic partnerships between universities within the international higher education landscape.

As part of the forum, Rector Zhanar Temirbekova held discussions with ICESCO representatives on a joint action plan for events to be held next year as part of the “Turkistan – Cultural Capital of the Islamic World” initiative.

It should also be noted that during her visit, Rector Zhanar Temirbekova met with Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting focused on further developing cooperation in education, science, and international relations.

Zhanar Temirbekova also attended an official reception hosted by the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan on the occasion of the Day of the Republic of Tatarstan.

In addition, the University Rector met with Rifkat Minnikhanov, President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, to discuss opportunities for cooperation in science and scientific research.
