A student scientific conference titled “Kazakhstan’s Statehood: Historical Continuity, Constitutional Values and Youth Responsibility” was held at our university to mark Republic Day, celebrated on 25 October.
The conference aimed to enhance students’ research engagement and facilitate the exchange of professional experience. It also sought to nurture qualified specialists who take a responsible approach to the country’s development.
The scientific conference was jointly organised by the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Dentistry.
The conference was attended by Marat Naizabekov, a member of the Turkistan Regional Branch of the Republican Public Association “Union of Lawyers of Kazakhstan”; Indira Abdurakhmanova, Chief Specialist of the Legal Services and Advocacy Division of the Department of Justice of the Turkistan Region; Zharmakhan Saparov, Inspector at the Department of Justice of the Turkistan Region; as well as academic staff and students.
Opening the event, Vice-Rector for Social and Cultural Development Yedil Tolegenov highlighted the concepts of “Law and Order,” “Just Kazakhstan,” “The Complete Person,” and “Honest Citizen” advanced by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. He noted that the enduring strength of any state rests on preserving constitutional values, national culture and traditions. He also emphasised the particular importance of fostering civic awareness and social consciousness within the university environment.
During the main session, students delivered presentations on topical issues such as “The Formation of Independent Kazakhstan and the Constitution as the Legal Foundation of the State,” “The Art of Healing in the Kazakh Khanate and Healthcare Initiatives of the Alash Intellectuals,” “Public and Medical Law and Professional Responsibility before the Law,” and “The Youth of Kazakhstan as a Strategic Resource of the State.”
The students also presented the “Sanaly Azamat” platform, which promotes legal awareness and responsibility in healthcare, and screened a special video on the subject.
The scientific conference encompassed the ideas of strengthening statehood, promoting constitutional values and fostering respect for the law. It concluded with the patriotic song “Kök Tudıñ Jelbiregeni” (“The Waving Blue Flag”).
Thus, by linking historical continuity, legal culture and the civic responsibility of young people with the field of medicine, the students engaged in a comprehensive discussion of pressing issues.
