THE WEEK OF MEETINGS BETWEEN THE VICE-RECTOR FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS AND FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS HAS BEGUN

Today, in accordance with our university's annual tradition, a week of meetings between first-year students and representatives of the Academic Department, headed by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elmira Idrissova, has commenced.

The purpose of these meetings is to provide students with comprehensive information about the university's academic policies and regulations, strategic plans and core values.

During the meeting, Vice-Rector Elmira Idrissova and specialists from the Academic Department introduced first-year students to the university's mission and purpose, strategic goals and priority areas of activity. The academic calendar for the 2026–2027 academic year was also presented to the students.

Speaking about the fundamental values of education — quality, integrity, openness, fairness, responsibility and commitment to innovation — the department representatives provided detailed explanations of the principles of academic integrity, discipline and responsibility in the learning process, the assessment system and academic regulations.

Particular emphasis was placed on the fact that adherence to the principles of academic integrity is one of the key indicators of the quality of education. Other important issues were also discussed, including the procedures for conducting examination sessions, requirements for completing professional internships and the assessment system.

During the meeting, students learned about the wide range of opportunities offered by the university, including academic mobility programmes, opportunities to improve foreign language proficiency and educational trips to the Republic of Türkiye.

It should be noted that this year our university joined the League of Academic Integrity. The League of Academic Integrity is an association of higher and postgraduate education institutions in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Its mission is to improve and develop the quality of education in the country by promoting and implementing ten fundamental principles of academic integrity.

At the end of the meeting, students had the opportunity to ask questions and received additional information about the relevant university departments and services.

Thus, the first day of the meeting week contributed to the adaptation of first-year students to their new educational environment, helped them gain a deeper understanding of the importance of studying at our university and encouraged them to recognize their personal responsibility.

Further meetings within the framework of this initiative will be organized with students from other faculties.
