AN ONLINE MEETING WITH A UN EXPERT WAS HELD AT THE FACULTY OF ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT

Anindya Datta, Technical Specialist on Migration and Refugee Issues at the Turkish Office of the International Labour Organization (ILO), held an online meeting with students and faculty of the Faculty of Economics and Management. In honor of the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, as part of the “Diplomatic Conversations” series, the expert delivered a presentation titled “Serving Humanity: The Journey of a Professional in the UN.” The event was organized by the Faculty of Economics and Management in collaboration with the Department of International Relations.

The purpose of the meeting was to introduce participants to the humanitarian work of the ILO, discuss professional opportunities within the UN system and experience working with refugees, and to help students shape their career paths in international organizations.

The speaker, Anindya Datta, is an international expert from Bangladesh and a technical specialist on migration and refugee issues at the Turkish Office of the ILO. For the past ten years, she has worked in the fields of migration, labor, and social policy in Asia. Previously, she held positions in UN agencies, the Swiss government, and international NGOs. She currently coordinates programs targeting vulnerable groups at the Turkish ILO office.

At the end of the meeting, participants received comprehensive answers to all their questions.
