CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES MUHITTIN SHIMSEK MET WITH THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE FOUNDATION CENTER

The Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, Muhittin Shimsek, along with Rector Zhanar Temirbekova and Rector’s Representative Naci Genc, met with the students of the Foundation Center at the Kentau campus.

At the meeting, the first to speak was the Chairman of the Governing Council, Muhittin Simsek:

“Dear instructors and students! I am pleased to meet you here in Kentau! You, our future students, have come to study here leaving behind your countries and families. Some of you may be far from your native land for the first time. But we will try to take care of you like a family. You are beginning a new and wonderful chapter of your lives. Akhmet Yassawi University is not just an educational institution; it is one big family, one large home. And the most important thing for the university and for us is you! Every initiative in education, science, and other areas of the university is carried out solely for your benefit!”

He also encouraged the students to respect their parents and not to forget their homeland and the university where they study.

Next, Rector Zhanar Temirbekova addressed the audience:

“Dear instructors and students, first of all, I am very happy to meet you! Here, within one year, you will master the Kazakh and Turkish languages. Moreover, you will also understand about 80% of other languages spoken by your friends from the Turkic world, such as Azerbaijani, Uzbek, and Kyrgyz. This is the greatest value of our university.

Our university has a long and rich history. Since its establishment, young people from the Turkic world have come to this sacred land of Turkistan to study. Over time, our campuses have been built in Kentau, Shymkent, and Almaty. This is because Kazakhstan and Turkey have placed great importance on our university. The goal was for the world to recognize this university and for young people from the Turkic world to receive an education here. Therefore, I am very glad to see you in this environment today!”

Rector’s Representative Naci Genc added:

“Our university grows and develops year by year. Dear students, I am confident that you will have a memorable and excellent academic year here. The university does not only provide education but also creates a unique environment for students from across the Turkic world. Here, you will meet friends from different nations and brotherly countries and grow into competent professionals. I wish you success in your studies!”

The students expressed their gratitude to the university leadership for coming to meet them and for the support provided at the start of the academic year.

It should be noted that in the 2025–2026 academic year, the Foundation Center hosts 294 students from Turkic countries. They have been studying Kazakh, Turkish, and English for just one month.

At the end of the event, the university leadership, faculty, and students took a commemorative photo together.
