THE SEMINAR TITLED “INNOVATIVE METHODS OF TEACHING THE ARABIC LANGUAGE” HAS BEGUN

Today, the seminar titled “Innovative Methods of Teaching the Arabic Language” began at the Faculty of Theology. The event was organized jointly by the Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Charity Foundation and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).

This seminar is held within the framework of the international language preparatory project of Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. This project is an international initiative aimed at discussing and exchanging experiences in new innovative approaches to teaching the Arabic language. As part of the program, the Arabic language instructors of the Faculty of Theology will enhance their professional qualifications.

For this purpose, a delegation led by Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Makushi, Deputy Director General of the Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Charity Foundation, and Dr. Anas Husam Al-Nughaimi, representative of ICESCO, arrived at our institution.

The guests and the university administration met with the faculty members and students of the department.

Opening the event, Rector Zhanar Temirbekova stated:

“If you remember, an official meeting with the Director-General of ICESCO, Mr. Salem bin Mohammed Al-Malik, took place in this hall in September. During that meeting, the faculty members of the Faculty of Theology proposed organizing professional development courses in the Arabic language. Today, this good initiative is becoming a reality. In this regard, we express our gratitude to ICESCO and our partners for their support.
Our university is actively developing cooperation with ICESCO. Today's seminar is proof of that. I am confident that this cooperation will continue with new projects in the future.”

Acting Representative of the Rector Naci Genc added:

“Every language represents a person and a nation. Therefore, I believe that this program, aimed at improving the professional qualifications of Arabic language instructors of the Faculty of Theology, will be highly beneficial. I would like to express my gratitude to our guests — the organizers of the program!”

Then Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Makushi, Deputy Director General of the Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Charity Foundation, noted:
“Today I feel something special. I am pleased to meet you at a university with deep historical roots! The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia attaches great importance to the development and promotion of the Arabic language. In our universities, 10% of all students are international. The Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Charity Foundation contributes to the promotion and development of the Arabic language. We have opened Arabic language centers in the USA, Italy, the UK, and Russia. These centers operate at the most prestigious universities in these countries.”

In addition, during the event, Dr. Anas Husam Al-Nughaimi, ICESCO representative, and Bakbergen Koishybayev, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Commission for UNESCO and ICESCO under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, shared their views on the significance of the seminar. They expressed gratitude to the university administration for supporting the implementation of the program.

It should be noted that, within the framework of the international language preparatory project of Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, our instructors will participate in special Arabic language seminars until November 20.
