AN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE DEDICATED TO MATHEMATICS WAS HELD
On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Professor Batyrkhan Turmetov, of the Department of Mathematics at our university, an International Mathematical Conference titled “Modern Trends in Analysis and Differential Equations” was held. The event was jointly organized by the Faculty of Natural Sciences and the Institute of Mathematics and Mathematical Modeling in Almaty.
Professor Turmetov is a distinguished scholar and a leading figure in mathematical science. He holds a Doctorate in Physical and Mathematical Sciences and has been a faculty member at our university since 2005. Over the years, he has trained numerous students and made significant contributions to the advancement of mathematical knowledge.
The conference aimed to discuss contemporary problems in analysis and differential equations, strengthen international scientific collaboration, and support young researchers. It brought together domestic scholars as well as international participants from Turkey, Russia, Uzbekistan, Australia, and Belgium.
The opening address was delivered by Yedil Tolegenov, Vice-Rector for Social and Cultural Development, who said:
“This conference holds a special place for our university. Today’s event is not only a platform for scientific exchange, but also a celebration of Professor Batyrkhan Turmetov’s 65th anniversary. He has worked here for many years and has made invaluable contributions to the development of the Department of Mathematics.
I extend my gratitude to all scholars who have traveled from near and far, and I wish all participants and organizers fruitful discussions, productive work, and success.”
The Vice-Rector also conveyed congratulatory messages from University Rector Zhanar Temirbekova and Rector’s Representative Naci Genc. In accordance with Kazakh tradition, Professor Turmetov was honored with a ceremonial shapan and presented with gifts.
Makhmud Sadybekov, Director General of the Institute of Mathematics and Mathematical Modeling, commented:
“The main reason for today’s conference is to sincerely congratulate our dear friend Batyrkhan Turmetov on his anniversary. I thank the university administration for their support. Initially, the event was planned as a seminar, but mathematicians from across Kazakhstan expressed interest in participating, and it grew into a large international conference. Nearly 20 scholars came from Uzbekistan alone. We are grateful to all participants.”
Following the speeches, scholars presented reports on current research topics in mathematics.
The two-day conference featured two parallel sections. Presentations included topics such as “Estimates of Discrete Analogues of Integral Geometry Problems with Weight Functions,” “Solvability of Boundary Value Problems for Differential Equations with Involutive Transformations,” “Construction of Green’s Functions for Nonlocal Problems of the Laplace Equation,” and “Function Spaces and Variational Problems for Differential Equations with Degeneration,” among others.
The conference provided an important platform for discussing key areas of modern mathematical research. Participants exchanged experiences, shared new ideas, and presented innovative findings, offering young researchers valuable opportunities for professional development. The event not only honored Professor Turmetov’s significant contributions to science and education, but also fostered further international collaboration in the fields of analysis and differential equations.
