Software Innovation Ofiice

The Software Innovation Department is a structural unit responsible for the development, enhancement, and technological improvement of the University’s digital products, information systems, and software solutions. It provides engineering support for the University’s digital transformation by developing modern software products that support educational, research, administrative, managerial, and innovation activities.

The Department develops web applications, information systems, mobile solutions, backend and frontend components, database-driven services, and API interfaces. Application architecture, source-code management, testing, release organization, software defect resolution, implementation of new functionality, and technological enhancement of existing systems are among its core engineering responsibilities.

The Department may provide software engineering support to projects undertaken by the University’s research units and laboratories. In such projects, it may contribute to the development of data-processing tools, research-specific software components, the engineering implementation of artificial intelligence and machine-learning models, API services, user interfaces, integration solutions, and deployment solutions. Scientific objectives, methodology, requirements governing the scientific use of data, and scientific evaluation of results remain the responsibility of the relevant research area.

The Department may also contribute to the development of initial technological solutions for innovation and startup projects implemented within the University. When promising ideas are transformed into technical prototypes or minimum viable products (MVPs), the Department may provide engineering support in software architecture and in the development of backend, frontend, mobile, API, and other software components. Such work is carried out within the Department’s approved priorities and available resources.

For all software products developed by the Department, principles of centralized source-code management, technical documentation, testing, compliance with information security requirements, release control, and advance definition of responsibilities for subsequent support are applied.
