THE “ACADEMIC LEADERSHIP” TRAINING HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED
At our university, the “Academic Leadership” training program, which lasted for two months, has successfully concluded.
The primary objective of the program was to foster a culture of academic leadership, enhance management practices, and strengthen trust and collaboration within the academic community.
Beginning in October, weekly professional development and team-building sessions were held every Tuesday in the format of corporate breakfast meetings. These sessions were designed for deans, heads of departments, directors of research institutes, deputy deans, and heads of academic departments.
The training program addressed a wide range of key topics, including: Academic Leadership; Employee Motivation and Emotional Intelligence; Collective Contribution to the University’s Strategic Goals; Building a Culture of Trust and Collaboration within Teams; Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence; Academic Ethics and Responsibility; and Time and Priority Management: Skills of an Effective Manager.
During the closing session, Rector Janar Temirbekova shared her reflections on the distinctive aspects of each topic and the new insights gained through the training. She also highlighted the achievements accomplished and the innovative ideas generated as a result of the program.
“The training seminars conducted over the past two months were characterized by a positive and engaging atmosphere. I am confident that these meetings will continue in the future. We are always ready to support our participants. We encourage deans and heads of departments to further analyze the discussed topics and submit new proposals. There are still many important issues to be addressed. Overall, I believe the trainings held so far have been highly beneficial and rich in valuable information,” she noted.
Following her remarks, the Rector presented certificates to the trainers and participants of the program.
At the conclusion of the event, participants shared their impressions, reflected on the knowledge and insights they had gained, and expressed their gratitude to the speakers and the university leadership.
Throughout the training program, participants became familiar with modern approaches to academic leadership and enhanced their competencies in effective communication, teamwork, strategic thinking, emotional intelligence, and time management. In addition, they developed new perspectives on the application of digital transformation and artificial intelligence in the educational process, as well as on upholding the principles of academic ethics and responsibility. The knowledge and experience acquired are expected to make a significant contribution to the sustainable development of our university and to the strengthening of its management culture.
