Introduction

The main goal of the Department of Information Technology is to provide information and technical support to the educational process at the university, to introduce new information technologies into the educational process. According to the development strategy, it is aimed at informing the University, developing the university information infra system as a whole, introducing new information technologies into the educational process, automating office work and university office work.

IT services

Information Security Office

  • Administer the University’s server infrastructure and ensure its stable operation.

  • Manage physical and virtual servers, the virtualization environment, and server resources.

  • Support data storage systems and backup and recovery infrastructure.

  • Manage Core and Access network equipment, routing, switching, VLANs, and IP addressing.

  • Administer the University’s Wi-Fi infrastructure, controllers, access points, SSIDs, and network policies.

  • Ensure the operation of internet links, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and other core network services.

  • Provide technical management of Active Directory, corporate authentication, and users’ system access.

  • Administer firewalls, network segmentation, and other information security controls.

  • Register, analyse, contain, and respond to information security incidents.

  • Identify vulnerabilities in information systems and infrastructure and coordinate remediation measures.

  • Monitor and log core IT infrastructure and control availability indicators.

  • Provide technical support for CCTV, access control, turnstile, and IP telephony infrastructure.

  • Ensure technical preparedness for disaster recovery and business continuity.

  • Ensure the infrastructure operation of GPU servers, computing resources, and research IT environments.

  • Assess infrastructure development needs and prepare proposals for technical modernization.

Technical Repair and Service Office
  • Receive, register, and process IT requests through a single Service Desk/Help Desk.

  • Categorize and prioritize requests, perform initial diagnostics, and route them to the responsible unit.

  • Provide technical support for user computers and laptops.

  • Support printers, scanners, monitors, and other peripheral devices.

  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair computer equipment.

  • Install operating systems, drivers, and standard software.

  • Prepare IT workplaces for new employees and provide the required technical configuration.

  • Perform first-line diagnostics for network and Wi-Fi issues on user devices.

  • Organize on-site technical support for structural units.

  • Provide technical support for conferences, meetings, and University events.

  • Participate in IT asset accounting and record equipment movement and condition.

  • Provide users with advisory support on IT systems and devices.

  • Develop instructions and knowledge-base materials for frequently encountered issues.

  • Monitor request completion times, SLA indicators, and user satisfaction.

  • Analyse recurring technical issues and propose measures to reduce them systematically.

Core principle: Users should judge IT not by where they need to report a problem, but by how quickly and effectively it is resolved.

Software Innovation Ofiice
  • Design and develop the University’s information systems and digital services.

  • Develop backend, frontend, web, and mobile applications.

  • Develop application databases and software components for information systems.

  • Develop APIs and software integration components required by information systems.

  • Define application architecture and technical solutions for information systems.

  • Manage source code centrally using Git and other version-control tools.

  • Test software products and identify and resolve defects.

  • Improve CI/CD, deployment, and release-management processes.

  • Provide application-level technical support for existing information systems.

  • Develop the technical platform and functional capabilities of the University’s web resources.

  • Support research projects in software engineering, data processing, and AI/ML engineering.

  • Engineer the integration of artificial intelligence models into information systems at API and user-interface levels.

  • Provide technological support to innovation and startup projects during prototype and MVP development stages.

  • Maintain technical documentation and release materials for software products.

  • Contribute to ensuring that developed digital products meet requirements for security, performance, reliability, and scalability.

Internet Infrastructure Development Office
  • Ensure the technical readiness and stable operation of computer laboratories.

  • Conduct technical readiness checks of computer rooms before the start of the academic term.

  • Install educational and specialized software required for the learning process in computer laboratories.

  • Create and maintain standardized software environments required for academic courses.

  • Pre-check and technically prepare computers used for examinations and testing.

  • Monitor the operation of computers and peripheral devices in examination rooms.

  • Identify technical risks in advance during examination and testing periods and participate in their resolution.

  • Organize preventive inspections and scheduled maintenance in computer laboratories.

  • Monitor the technical condition of educational IT equipment and assess renewal needs.

  • Analyse the computer and software needs of faculties and departments for educational purposes.

  • Participate in the technical planning of new computer laboratories and digital classrooms.

  • Prepare technical proposals for the development of Smart Classroom and modern digital learning environments.

  • Participate in defining standards and typical configurations for the educational computer fleet.

  • Maintain technical records on the condition and readiness of computer rooms.

  • Work with responsible units to resolve faults affecting educational IT infrastructure.

Core principle: Every classroom and computer laboratory must be prepared in advance for teaching, learning, and examinations.

System Automation Office
  • Create and maintain an up-to-date register of the University’s core business processes.

  • Identify processes suitable for automation and optimization and propose priorities.

  • Study and analyse the AS-IS model of existing business processes.

  • Develop the target TO-BE model for processes selected for digitalization.

  • Collect, clarify, and document business and functional requirements from structural units.

  • Develop functional requirements and acceptance criteria for automation projects.

  • Participate in the development of electronic requests, approvals, and workflow processes.

  • Develop automated services on University portals and process platforms.

  • Identify integration needs between information systems and define data-exchange logic.

  • Develop requirements for API integration, SSO, and unified authentication initiatives.

  • Participate in developing Master Data principles and shared reference datasets.

  • Participate in Data Governance and data-quality management initiatives.

  • Define requirements for BI, management analytics, and dashboard solutions.

  • Measure the share of automated business processes and the level of digitalization.

  • Participate in forming, prioritizing, and evaluating the results of the portfolio of digital initiatives and projects.

Core principle: Do not merely automate a process; optimize it and integrate it into the digital ecosystem.
