Today, our university hosted an important event as part of the “Book-Reading Nation” project initiated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The event was attended by Nursulu Yegemberdiyeva, Director of the Turkistan Regional Branch of Bank CenterCredit JSC; Altynai Sadykova, Director of the Central Branch; Yedil Tolegenov, Vice-Rector for Social and Cultural Development; Akmeruyert Absemetova, Director of the Library; librarians; and active students.
During the event, Nursulu Yegemberdiyeva, a representative of Bank CenterCredit and Director of its Turkistan Regional Branch, donated 100 copies of Eleñ-Alañ, a novel by the renowned Kazakh writer Abish Kekilbayev, to the university library. Bank CenterCredit supported the republication of Eleñ-Alañ in the Kazakh language and contributed to the publication of 8,100 copies.
Eleñ-Alañ is one of the most outstanding works of Kazakh literature. It focuses on the era of Abulkhair Khan and recounts the historic decisions that shaped the destiny of the Kazakh people.
On behalf of the university community, Vice-Rector Yedil Tolegenov and Library Director Akmeruyert Absemetova expressed their gratitude to Ruslan Vladimirov, President of Bank CenterCredit JSC, who sponsored the new edition, as well as to the bank’s representatives. They also expressed their hope that this valuable cultural support would continue in the future
