On April 3-4, 2026, in Turkestan, the Department of Infectious Diseases and Phthisiology with a course in dermatovenereology of the Faculty of Postgraduate Higher Medical Education of the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after H.A. Yasawi held an International Scientific and Practical Conference in a hybrid mode: “Infectious, Tropical and Parasitic Diseases: Challenges, Diseases: Challenges, Cross-Border Risks, Biosafety.”
The organizers of this conference were: International Kazakh-Turkish University named after H.A. Yasawi, Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sino, National Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Regional Public Organization "Society of Infectious Diseases Physicians of the Republic of Kazakhstan".
At the conference, leading specialists and physicians in the fields of infectology, epidemiology, and laboratory diagnostics discussed current issues of infectious, tropical, and parasitic diseases, assessed cross-border risks, and developed joint measures to ensure biological security and international cooperation.
The reports of the faculty of medical universities and specialists in sanitary-epidemiological control, public health of Kazakhstan and the CIS countries: the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan were heard. The first chief freelance pediatric infectious disease specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, professor of the department of infectious diseases and phthisiology of the MUK Karaganda. MD Begaidarova R.Kh, professor, MD Alshynbekova G.K. MUK; currently working chief freelance pediatric infectious disease specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, head of the department of childhood infections of the MUK professor, MD Baesheva D.A., senior lecturers of the department of infectious diseases and phthisiology with a course in dermatovenereology of the International Medical University of Television and Radio Broadcasting named after Kh.A. Yasawi, PhD Kamytbekova K.Zh. and PhD Ospanova A.M., Veteran infectious disease doctors of the Turkestan region Shermetova M.B., Suramisova A.T., Akyngazieva B.M., Aitmuratova B.A. were awarded the badge of honor from the NGO "ZdravAtameken" "For loyalty to the profession", and the head of the department of infectious diseases and phthisiology with a course in dermatovenereology at the International College of Television and Radio Broadcasting named after H.A. Yasawi, MD, Associate Professor Utepbergenova G.A. was awarded the Order of Hippocrates for her great contribution to the development of domestic healthcare and selfless work for the benefit of the health of the people of Kazakhstan, for compassion, kindness and professionalism in providing medical care to patients.
At the conclusion of the conference, a resolution was adopted. Conference participants received certificates of the established format.
Conference guests visited the «Azret Sultan» Historical and Cultural Museum and the UNESCO heritage site of the Khoja Ahmed Yasawi Mausoleum.
