THE PEACEFUL MISSION OF THE MEDIA IN THE AGE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: A SESSION MEETING WAS HELD
The university hosted a series of roundtable sessions entitled “Media and Journalism in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.” Participants shared their views on topics such as “The Peaceful Mission of Media in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Responsibility and Ethics” and “The Language of Peace in Public Relations.”
The first session, “The Peace Mission of the Media in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Responsibility and Ethics,” was opened with an introductory speech by media expert, associate professor, and scholar Moldiyar Yergebekov: "Peace journalism was first discussed in the 1970s. At that time, this concept was often considered alongside war journalism. Nowadays, there is a need to broaden this understanding. After all, peace journalism should include not only issues of war, but also other factors that affect peace and stability in society. Unfortunately, we must not forget that there are still problems within society that need to be solved."
Senate Deputy Alisher Satvaldiyev delivered a speech at this important event. “The path to peace and peace journalism are still being discussed. But today we have gathered in this environment to discuss how social networks have become ingrained in our lives in the era of artificial intelligence, in the current era of realism,” he said, defining the main goal and task of the round table.
Once again, Zhaynagul Tulemis, advisor to the Minister of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, presented statistics on the problems of teenagers on social media.
"According to statistics, every second child aged 5-8 years old accesses the internet for the first time. Although this environment is full of new opportunities for children, we must recognize that it also carries invisible risks. Currently, the exacerbation of problems such as cyberbullying and harassment is negatively affecting children's well-being and the formation of their personal boundaries. In addition, posting any content, photos, or videos related to children on social media without the consent of the parents and the children themselves is a criminal offense.
During the session, a number of speakers also presented informative reports. In particular: Professor at the University of World Languages of Uzbekistan, Director of the New Media Education Center (NMEC), Editor-in-Chief of the Ana Tili newspaper Yerlan Zhunus, Head of the Qyzylorda TV channel Nurbek Amisha, and others.
The second session was devoted to the topic “The language of peace in public relations.” During the session, the speakers presented their reports.
In her speech, Birali Elmira, Director of the International Center for Interfaith Dialogue, noted: "The President of the country, Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, pointed out that artificial intelligence contributes to human life. The head of state noted that at the present stage, new ethical problems are emerging, such as maintaining confidentiality, ensuring the security of digital space, and the fair and responsible use of artificial intelligence. These problems require joint solutions at the human level,".
Presentations were also given by sociologist and media expert Alibek Kizybay, journalist Zarina Akhmatova, journalist and media expert Zhanibek Nurysh, and director of the Turkestan branch of the AKF “PIT” Slambek Alikhan.
