THE DELEGATION OF THE TURKPA INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION ARRIVED
The delegation includes members of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey — Tahir Akyurek, Filiz Kilic, and Kadim Durmaz — as well as Erkan Durdular, a staff member of the Department of External Relations and Protocol of the TURKPA Secretariat, and Kadir Yaman, Secretary of the TURKPA Commission. In addition, the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Turkistan, Levent Gurjan, also arrived.
It should be noted that TURKPA (the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States) is an international organization aimed at developing interparliamentary cooperation among Turkic-speaking countries, harmonizing legislation, and strengthening ties between brotherly nations. It plays an important role in strengthening unity within the Turkic world.
It is worth recalling that the delegation arrived in the Turkistan region on March 15 to observe the course of the national referendum.
The distinguished guests were welcomed by Rector Zhanar Temirbekova, Rector’s Representative Naci Genc, and the vice-rectors.
First, the delegation members visited the panoramic museum of the history of Turkic peoples located in the Cultural Center, as well as the exhibition dedicated to the 950th anniversary of Mahmud al-Kashgari’s work “Diwani Lughat al-Turk.” They not only explored the exhibits but also became acquainted with the rich history of Kazakh land and our university.
Next, the university leadership and the guests gathered together and exchanged views on important topics.
The guests shared their impressions of Kazakhstan, particularly the city of Turkistan. They spoke about the city’s infrastructure, unique architecture, and spiritual significance.
The Rector and the Rector’s Representative provided the delegation with information about the university’s role in the field of science, its potential, and future prospects. They also spoke about the opportunities available to students and the training of highly qualified specialists. The features of Kazakhstan’s higher education system were presented in detail, including state grant programs for universities. It was noted that student dormitory accommodation is widely developed across all regions to ensure access to education, with emphasis on the high quality and accessibility of such facilities.
Most importantly, the significance of the strong and enduring friendship between the two countries was highlighted, with wishes expressed for its continued strength.
Rector Zhanar Temirbekova invited the delegation members to attend an iftar meal during the holy month of Ramadan at the university.
At the end of the meeting, the guests expressed their gratitude to the university leadership and staff for the warm welcome.
