Rector Zhanar Temirbekova met with Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, during her official visit to the Republic of Türkiye.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of academic cooperation among Turkic states, enhancing the mobility of students and faculty, and promoting joint research initiatives.
They also emphasized the role of the Union of Turkic Universities (TURKUNIB), including the Orkhun Exchange Program, as an important platform for deepening educational integration across the Turkic world and fostering a common academic space. In this context, Rector Zhanar Temirbekova presented her university’s proposals and shared information regarding the Orkhun Program.
The participants also exchanged views on upcoming major international political events to be held in the city of Turkistan. In particular, they discussed the informal summit of the Presidents of the Turkic states and the ministerial meeting scheduled for June. The Rector emphasized that Khoja Akhmet Yassawi University consistently places great importance on events significant to Kazakhstan and the Turkic world, actively contributing to decision-making processes and working to strengthen mutual cooperation. She noted that this is not only a form of support, but also a responsibility of the university, which has become a shared academic home for the Turkic world. She further stressed that the university will continue to actively participate in discussions and initiatives within the framework of the upcoming political events.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Rector Zhanar Temirbekova expressed her sincere gratitude to Kubanychbek Omuraliev for the warm reception, kind words, and for demonstrating a strong example of brotherhood.
