“THE ART OF STAGE SPEECH: A NEW DIMENSION OF LANGUAGE LEARNING”
Today, a cultural event titled “Poetic Lines Lead to the Stage” was held at the Foundation Center of our university in the city of Kentau, with the participation of students from the Department of Languages.
The main purpose of the evening was to demonstrate that language learning is not limited to mastering grammar alone. Language is a complex phenomenon that encompasses written, literary, artistic, and spoken forms of expression. The event also aimed to assess the students’ proficiency in Turkish and to develop their ability to communicate fluently in a foreign language.
During the event, the Rector’s representative, Peyami Battal, delivered a speech encouraging students not to limit themselves to coursework, but also to read books and articles in both Kazakh and Turkish.
The Director of the Foundation Center, Gul Banu Duman, emphasized the importance of unity and mutual support, noting that consistent practice and repetition are essential in language learning. She also reminded students to maintain their language level during the summer break.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Turkish Language Department, Mehmet Ozeren, highlighted that students show great interest not only in grammar but also in the artistic and literary aspects of the language.
As part of the event, participants competed in singing, poetry, and tongue twisters, performing on stage in Turkish. They recited poems expressively and won the warm appreciation of the audience. The captivating songs and meaningful performances added a special charm to the evening. Through a single сцене, participants managed to both amuse and provoke deep reflection among the audience.
According to the results of the competition, the top three winners were determined in the categories of poetry, singing, and tongue twisters, and were awarded certificates of appreciation.
It is worth noting that at the Foundation Center, students achieve a high level of proficiency in Kazakh and Turkish within one year. Moreover, they also have the opportunity to learn and understand other Turkic languages such as Azerbaijani, Uzbek, and Kyrgyz through friendships with peers from across the Turkic world. This is considered the greatest value of the Foundation Center.
