PhD, Associate Professor J. Nurmatov of the Department of Theology at the Faculty of Theology delivered a comprehensive open lecture on the topic “Interpretations of the Qur’an during the periods of the Prophet, the Companions, and the Tabi‘un.” During the lecture, the early stages of the science of tafsir and the characteristics of Qur’anic interpretation were thoroughly analyzed, integrating theoretical knowledge with scholarly insight.

In addition, the continuity within the tafsir tradition, the relationship between narration (riwayah) and independent reasoning (ijtihad), and the formation of tafsir schools were extensively discussed. The active participation and strong interest of students contributed to the high quality of the session.

At the end of the lecture, Chair of the Educational and Methodological Committee G. Shadinova and Professor D. Shahin shared their opinions and highly appreciated the open class. We express our gratitude to J. Nurmatov for this meaningful lecture and wish him success in his professional activities and great achievements in his academic pursuits.
