At our educational institution, the traditional republican tournament “YASAWI SCHOOL CUP V” for 11th–12th grade students has begun.

The tournament is organized by the “YASAWI DC” debate club under the coordination of the Shanyrak clubs.

The aim of the competition is to develop students’ critical thinking skills, enhance their public speaking and argumentative analysis abilities, and foster a culture of open and respectful discussion on various social and public issues. In addition, it provides students with the opportunity to freely express their own opinions, increases their interest in learning, and helps identify and support talented youth.

A total of 31 teams from the cities of Turkistan, Kyzylorda, Shymkent, and Taraz, as well as from the Otyrar and Zhuvaly districts and the village of Karnak, are participating in the tournament.

Vice-Rector for Social and Cultural Development, Yedil Tolegenov, who delivered the opening speech, said: “Dear students, teachers, and parents! Welcome to Yassawi University! Our university was founded at the time of our country’s independence thanks to the friendship between two nations. Today, our institution has become one of the leading universities in Kazakhstan, standing on equal footing with other higher education institutions. Moreover, it is gaining recognition internationally in several academic fields.

We strive for the nearly 10,000 students studying at our university to be the most knowledgeable, highly qualified, and competitive. To achieve this, we regularly organize debates and academic competitions among talented youth to attract them to pursue their education at our university.

Therefore, we have organized this debate tournament to bring together eloquent and sharp-minded young people and encourage them to continue their studies at our institution. Dear students, I wish you success!”

It is worth noting that over the course of two days, participants will compete in several rounds to determine the best teams. Ultimately, the strongest participants will be selected and awarded the opportunity to study at our university free of charge.
