The international academic mobility program is being successfully implemented within the framework of the cooperation agreement between Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University and Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sino. The program is aimed at strengthening international collaboration in medical education, science, and clinical practice.

From April 27 to May 2, 2026, a delegation from the Bukhara State Medical Institute visited the Department of Specialized Surgical Disciplines of the Faculty of Postgraduate Medical Education at the university campus in Shymkent. The delegation was headed by the Chair of the Department of General Surgery, Professor Bakodir Barnoevich Safoev. The delegation also included Associate Professors PhD T.Sh. Boltaev, PhD M.S. Sharopova, PhD A.E. Ruziev, PhD Sh.Sh. Rakhmatov, PhD O.Z. Latipov, and Assistant Professor PhD B.B. Safoev.

During the visit, representatives of the Uzbek side delivered lectures and conducted practical and seminar classes for interns and first-, second-, and third-year surgical residents. The educational activities focused on current issues in modern surgery, innovative diagnostic and treatment methods, and the improvement of practical clinical skills.

Special attention was given to the exchange of scientific, pedagogical, and clinical experience between the academic staff of the two medical universities. A round table discussion was organized with the participation of the Department of Specialized Surgical Disciplines, where prospects for further cooperation in medical education, scientific research, resident training, and professional development of surgical specialists were discussed.

As part of the academic mobility program, joint clinical rounds and patient supervision activities were organized at the departments of purulent surgery in City Clinical Hospitals No. 1 and No. 2 in Shymkent. During the collaborative work, specialists exchanged practical experience in managing complex surgical patients and discussed modern approaches to diagnosis, treatment, and postoperative care.

The implementation of this international academic mobility program became an important step in strengthening partnership relations between the two universities, expanding scientific and educational cooperation, and improving the quality of medical personnel training. The international experience gained contributes to the integration of advanced educational technologies and modern clinical practices into the educational process and supports the development of contemporary surgical science.

Following the visit, agreements were reached on further bilateral cooperation, including the organization of joint scientific and practical conferences, academic exchanges, internships, publication of scientific papers, and the implementation of collaborative educational and research projects.

This international visit made a significant contribution to the development of international cooperation, strengthening professional ties between specialists, exchanging advanced experience, and improving the system of training highly qualified medical professionals. The implementation of the planned initiatives will contribute to the further development of medical education, science, and practical healthcare in the region.
