THE INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON “INTELLECTUAL MOVEMENTS DURING THE RENEWAL OF THE TURKIC WORLD” HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN
The event is dedicated to the literature and history of the Turkic world, its language and culture, philosophy and political processes, as well as innovative and intellectual movements influencing social, cultural, and political structures.
The main goal of the symposium is to bring together scholars, researchers, and enthusiasts of the Turkic world to discuss the dynamics of innovative processes, intellectual movements, and their impact on modern society. Participants also explore solutions to pressing issues in the Turkic world and opportunities for collaboration to preserve and develop the shared cultural heritage.
At the opening, Deputy Akim of the Turkestan Region Beissen Tazhibayev read a congratulatory message from Akim Darkhan Satybaldy.
The Rector of our university, Zhanar Temirbekova, expressed gratitude to the guests and scholars:
“Dear guests, colleagues, and students! Today’s meeting is an important event for both our university and the beautiful city of Turkestan. Our university, serving as a shared home for youth across the Turkic world, annually implements significant scientific and educational projects that promote the integration of Turkic countries.
Since its foundation, the university has fulfilled the mission of being a prominent example of the intellectual movement of the Turkic world. History shows that international organizations in the Turkic world began to form after the establishment of our international university.”
The Rector also reviewed major events held since 2023: during this period, the university organized eight major international symposia, hosting about 2,000 scholars from Turkic countries and 800 specialists from other countries, highlighting their significance for the intellectual development of the region.
The Rector’s Representative, Professor Naci Genc thanked the scholars and participants for attending and emphasized the uniqueness of the symposium, noting the anticipation of constructive proposals and systematic ideas for the Turkic countries.
Among the honored guests were Oktay Ozgul, Secretary of the Manas Kyrgyz-Turkish University, and Yusuf Sayit, Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Culture Organization (TÜRKSOY). They highlighted the importance of the symposium, thanked the leadership of the two universities for organizing the event, and stressed it as an example of unity and cooperation.
The symposium began with five working sections. The sectional meetings will discuss topics such as Turkic world literature, periods of renewal and intellectual movements, thinkers and architects of Turkic ideas, modern Turkic written languages in the context of innovations, the press and educational activities in the Turkic world, and other current issues.
