INTERNATIONAL ACCESS PROGRAM TO BE LAUNCHED AT THE UNIVERSITY
Today, our university welcomed Ali Lejlic, Public Affairs Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Astana, Nurgul Zhanabayeva, English Language Programs Coordinator at the U.S. Consulate General, and Tatyana Letyaykina, President of the Kazakhstan Association of English Teachers (KazTEA), on an official visit.
The distinguished guests met with Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elmira Idrissova and Vice-Rector for Finance and International Relations Mustafa Giritlioglu.
During the meeting, a trilateral agreement was officially signed between the university, the U.S. Consulate, and KazTEA for the implementation of the English Access Scholarship Program (Access).
The Access Program is a global educational initiative supported by the U.S. Department of State and successfully implemented in many countries around the world.
The main objective of the project is to improve English language proficiency among selected talented young people, while also promoting mutual understanding between nations and expanding opportunities for professional development.
According to the program requirements, 32 of the most active students aged 18–21 who are studying in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Information Technology, and Business programs will be selected to participate.
Participants will complete an intensive language and practical training program consisting of 360 academic hours over a period of 18 months. Students who successfully complete the program will receive an internationally recognized certificate signed by the U.S. Consul General.
In addition, outstanding graduates will have the opportunity to participate in an exclusive job fair organized with the support of the U.S. Consulate General and attended by major American companies operating in Kazakhstan.
The project will also provide a valuable platform for the university’s instructors and coordinators to collaborate with specialists from KazTEA and the U.S. Consulate, gain experience in managing international projects, and enhance their professional qualifications.
Furthermore, the initiative represents another important step toward the international integration of the university’s educational environment.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their gratitude to one another and exchanged commemorative gifts.
