From September 9 to 12, the 14th International Symposium of Altaic Communities was held in Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the support of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. The international scientific forum was organized as part of the events commemorating the 100th anniversary of the First International Congress of Turkology and was held under the theme “The Past, Present and Future of Altaic Studies.” The scientific programme of the symposium covered a wide range of current issues related to the history and culture of Altaic communities, their languages and civilizational heritage, research areas within the Turkic world, and contemporary prospects for the development of Altaic studies.
The international symposium brought together 110 scholars from 15 countries — Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, India, China, Japan, North Macedonia, Hungary, Germany, and the Russian Federation. Scholars and researchers presented their studies in the field of Altaic studies and exchanged academic experience and views. The symposium was also attended by E.U. Zulpikharova, Dean of the Faculty of Education and Humanities Research at Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University, Candidate of Sciences and Associate Professor, who delivered a scientific presentation.
The participation of the Faculty Dean in this international scientific symposium represents an important step toward promoting the scientific potential of our university at the international level, strengthening academic ties with foreign scholars, and developing international cooperation in education and the humanities. As part of the symposium, E.U. Zulpikharova was presented with a certificate for her active participation in the international scientific event. The certificate is an important recognition of her active involvement in research activities and professional engagement with the international academic community.
The academic discussions and meetings held during the international symposium contributed to the development of new research in Altaic studies, Turkology, and the humanities, the expansion of academic cooperation, and the further strengthening of international partnerships.
