An Open Day was held at the Center for Molecular Diagnostics and Genomic Research, which operates under the university’s Yassawi Center for Academic and Research Excellence.

The event was attended by Zhanbolat Dildabekov, Deputy Head of the Turkistan Regional Department of Health; Altynbek Zhorabek, its chief specialist; and heads and representatives of public healthcare institutions from the city of Turkistan and districts across the region.

The participants toured the Center’s clinical diagnostic, immunology, cell biology, molecular genetics, microbiology, and pathomorphology laboratories. They learned about the laboratories’ daily operations, technical capabilities, and services.

The Center’s laboratories are distinguished by their integration of scientific research with clinical diagnostic services. Every laboratory analysis is based on modern scientific approaches, while research findings contribute to establishing accurate diagnoses for patients.

It should be noted that, in cooperation with the university’s Clinical and Diagnostic Center, the Center plans to provide diagnostic services to residents of the Turkistan region both within the framework of compulsory social health insurance and on a fee-paying basis. Its primary aim is to make high-quality diagnostic services more accessible to urban and rural residents and to raise the accuracy of medical diagnostics to a new level.

The heads of healthcare institutions expressed considerable interest in the laboratories’ capabilities. They stated that work would be undertaken to refer clinical diagnostic, genetic, microbiological, and pathomorphological tests to the Center’s laboratories on a contractual basis.

Cooperation agreements are expected to be concluded with the Clinical and Diagnostic Center on a subcontracting basis and for the provision of paid services.

The Center’s primary objective is to contribute to improving public health through accurate, high-quality diagnostics. In the future, it aims to become one of the leading reference centers in southern Kazakhstan. This will allow local residents to undergo complex laboratory tests in their own region conveniently and affordably, without having to travel to other cities.

Thus, the Open Day paved the way for stronger cooperation between the university and the region’s healthcare institutions.
