Today, our university is hosting the II Alumni Forum under the motto “From Deep History – to a Bright Future!” The event brings together alumni from different years, veteran educators, students, and members of the intelligentsia.

A key highlight of the forum was the launch of the Yasawi Endowment Fund, established on the initiative of the university’s alumni.

An endowment fund is a purpose-driven fund widely used in universities around the world to support the university community, including students and faculty. The primary goal of the fund is to ensure the financial stability of strategically important university projects. Its tasks include forming and increasing capital through charitable donations. The investment income generated will be allocated to various grants, student scholarships, research projects, and support for talented and gifted students.

The opening of the fund marked a joyful milestone in the university’s history.

The fund’s founders include alumni from the Class of 2001, Vice-Rector for Social and Cultural Development Yedil Tolegenov, and alumna of the Class of 1996, Chairperson of the Alumni Association Mariyam Assanova. The Board of Trustees includes Bakdaulet Begaliyev, President of the International Association for Continuous Development of Education, Science, and Culture; Assylan Ibadullayev, Director of the Turkestan Regional Branch of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs; and Samat Suley, journalist and producer of international projects at Turkistan Media Holding.

Assylan Ibadullayev, a member of the fund’s Board of Trustees, remarked:
“Dear alumni and students, congratulations on this solemn occasion! The endowment is an extremely important fund on a global scale. In the future, it will support research projects and student grants. This is a much-needed and charitable initiative. We are confident that the fund’s resources will be used efficiently! We wish Yasawi University great success!”

Yedil Tolegenov, Vice-Rector for Social and Cultural Development and a founder of the fund, added:
“Today is an important day in the history of the university. The launch of the endowment fund opens up great opportunities for the educational and research development of students. We are confident that this initiative will ensure the university’s stability and contribute to its further growth. Every contribution to the fund will help the university flourish and become a world-class center of science and education. I thank everyone who has participated in this noble cause!”

Nurbol Nuskubekov, Deputy Director of the Turkestan Regional Branch of Bank Halyk, noted:
“Recently, we finalized the fund’s documents, opened the Yasawi Endowment account, and added a QR application. Through Bank Halyk’s program, you can make your contribution to the fund. Among our staff, there are alumni of the university, and their number grows each year. Bank Halyk has always supported the university as a partner bank, and we hope to continue contributing to the fund in the future.” The QR version of the fund was formally presented to Mariyam Assanova.

Since the fund’s launch, many alumni have already made contributions. Among the first donors was a group of 1995 alumni who transferred 10 million tenge to the fund. This was reported by Bakdaulet Begaliyev, President of the International Association for Continuous Development of Education, Science, and Culture. In his congratulatory remarks, he said:
“We enrolled in the university in 1991 and became among the first graduates. Today, we serve the country. We are very pleased with the launch of the Yasawi Endowment Fund! We wish the university continued growth and broad opportunities for its students!”

Thus, the new fund has already begun attracting support from alumni, students, and all interested members of the university community.
