A festive evening dedicated to the national holiday – Republic Day – was held at the Cultural Center of our university.
The event began with the national anthems of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Turkey.
The first speech was delivered by Rector Zhanar Temirbekova, who said:
“Dear colleagues, esteemed guests, and beloved students!
I sincerely congratulate all of you on our national holiday – the Republic Day of Kazakhstan, the Day of the Reborn Republic!
As you know, October 25 was not chosen by chance as Republic Day. On this very day in 1990, the Declaration of State Sovereignty was adopted. Historians studying the modern era of Kazakhstan, as well as sociologists and political scientists, pay special attention to this date. Indeed, this document became the first and most important legal step on our country’s path toward independence.
From the bottom of my heart, I once again congratulate you on today’s holiday – the symbol of our Independence!”
Then, the Representative of the Rector, Professor Naci Genç, delivered a speech:
“Republic Day holds great significance, for the proclamation of the Republic is the symbol of Independence.
I congratulate all Kazakhstanis on this remarkable day!
If we look back at the long and rich history of our university, we can see that the development of our institution is inseparably connected with the history of the country’s independence.
On this important day, I consider it a great honor that we, together with our Kazakh and Turkish brothers, have gathered under one roof to celebrate Republic Day. This is a truly meaningful moment for all of us. May the spirit of Kazakhstan’s independence live on in the hearts of future generations!”
After the congratulatory speeches, the university administration awarded several professors and lecturers with honorary badges and Letters of Appreciation from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Head of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Turkistan Region, Akbulan Alzhanov, noted:
“I congratulate the university community on the upcoming Republic Day!
As one of the most prestigious universities in Kazakhstan, Ahmed Yasawi University plays an important role in the life of our region. The team, under the leadership of Zhanar Temirbekova, actively participates in regional events and provides comprehensive support.”
In addition, for active participation in organizing the First International Forum of Public Prosecutors, held on September 24–25 at the initiative of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Rector Zhanar Temirbekova was presented with a special Letter of Appreciation.
University employees who contributed to the training of qualified specialists and the successful organization of this significant forum were also recognized.
Deputy Head of the Department of Economic Investigations of the Turkistan Region, Murat Ospanov, and Head of the Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs in the Turkistan Region, Abylaikhan Nauryzbayev, presented special awards to university staff on behalf of their agencies.
The celebration continued with a festive concert program.
The folk-ethnic ensemble of national instruments “Atameken” performed the kui “Batyr Baba” and “Egemen Kazakhstan”, delighting the audience with unforgettable impressions and a spirit of patriotism.
