INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE: UNIVERSITY STUDENTS ENHANCE THEIR EDUCATION IN THE ANKARA CITY
Eleven students from our university’s Department of Journalism are currently participating in an internship in the Republic of Turkey. The top-performing students were specially welcomed by Rector Zhanar Temirbekova and Rector’s Representative Naci Genc.
Fourth-year Journalism students will spend one month in Ankara at TRT Media Holding, gaining hands-on experience and enhancing their professional skills.
During the meeting, Rector Zhanar Temirbekova addressed the students:
"This year marks the third anniversary of our Journalism students taking part in industrial internships in Turkey. Such internships have a long-standing tradition, not only in the Journalism Department but across all faculties. We are now reviving this valuable practice, and you are the pioneers of this initiative.
Your work during this internship will reflect on all our graduates, so you bear an important responsibility. You will have the opportunity to work at the country’s largest television channel. Make the most of this month—learn as much as you can and gain valuable life experience through thorough research and practical exposure."
The Rector’s Representative Naci Genc also addressed the students:
"Dear students, may your path be smooth! I wish you every success. You are going to Turkey not just as representatives of Kazakhstan, but as members of the Turkic world. You will find supportive mentors there who will guide you. I am confident that you will represent Kazakhstan positively and leave a lasting, favorable impression."
At the conclusion of the meeting, the students expressed their sincere gratitude to the university administration for their trust and support. They pledged to successfully complete their internship in Turkey and return to enhance the reputation of their university.
It should be noted that students selected for the internship at TRT Media Holding underwent a rigorous selection process. Candidates were evaluated based on academic performance and proficiency in the Turkish language, with the final stage involving a successful interview that granted them this prestigious opportunity.
